The top baby names of the 2010s in the US have been released by the Social Security Administration. Leading the list: Emma for girls and Noah for boys.
The new SSA tally of the top 200 names of the decade is based on the popular name counts for the years 2010 through 2018, the most recent year calculated. The US list of most popular baby names in 2019 will be released in May 2020.
The top baby names of the decade include several names currently ranking among the most popular names as well as a handful of others whose popularity is waning.

Charlotte
Emma, Sophia, Isabella, and Emily have all ranked at Number 1 in various years. Charlotte is the newest member of this elite group of girls’ names, popularized by Britain‘s little princess, while Madison has fallen the furthest, now at Number 22.

Again, four of the decade’s Top 10 boys’ names have ranked at Number 1 in recent years: Noah, Liam (the current Number 1), Jacob, and Michael.
Compared with the SSA’s top names of the 2000s, six of the Top 10 girls’ names are the same: Emily (Number 1 in the 2000s decade count), Madison, Emma, Olivia, Isabella, and Abigail. Hannah, Samantha, Elizabeth, and Ashley have dropped out.
On the boys’ side, even fewer names still rank among the Top 10 a decade later: Jacob (Number 1 of the 2000s), Michael, Ethan, and William. Joshua, Matthew, Andrew, Daniel, Christopher, and Joseph do not make the 2010s Top 10.
New names on this decade’s Top 200 for girls include Aurora, Alice, Luna, Cora, and London.
For boys, new names among the decade’s most popular include Declan, Ezekiel, Weston, Axel, and Luca.
